Bruce Dickinson is probably best known as a rock star. He is also a polymath who has enjoyed great success in diverse areas. He is a commercial airline pilot. He was Marketing Director for Astraeus Airlines, the driving force behind Cardiff Aviation, Vice-Chairman of Pouncer, Chairman of GoldiLox, commercial entrepreneur, and excellent fencer. To top this, he has proven himself an accomplished brewmaster as well.
As part of Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson worked his way to the top of the music scene in the late 1970s. His energetic performance, unique singing style, and fantastic stage presence contributed to the group’s success. He even pursued a short, successful stint as a solo artist before rejoining the group in the late 1990s.
It was also during the 1990s that Bruce Dickinson pursued his interest in flying, going on to gain his commercial pilot licence. He has also gone to set up Cardiff Aviation. This aircraft maintenance company has signed an agreement with the Djibouti government to help them relaunch their national airline. Bruce Dickinson has also invested considerably in the world’s largest aircraft, a plane, balloon, and hovercraft hybrid called the Airlander 10. Over the years, he has also created a large aircraft fleet commonly seen as a one-stop solution used by various airlines. He is also in the process of setting up a training company to train future pilots.
Bruce Dickinson brought his flying skills to the fore when, during the 2016 “Book of Souls” world tour, he piloted the plane that took the rock band to their various destinations.
In 2017, Bruce Dickinson became the Vice Chairman of Pouncer. The company has designed a drone that aids famine relief worldwide.
In collaboration with Robinsons Brewery in Stockport, England, Iron Maiden created a Trooper in 2013. Bruce Dickinson, the company’s head brewer, formulated the recipe for this ale, which has since been successfully exported to over 40 countries across the globe, making it the company’s most successful export.
As far as Bruce Dickinson and sport are concerned, fencing is his sport of choice. It seems the only thing that has stopped the usually unstoppable Bruce Dickinson from gaining international success in this sport is a lack of time for practice.
