Professor Carlos Moreno the Scientific director of the Chair Entrepreneurship – Territory – Innovation at France’s Sorbonne University. He specialises in the study of complex systems and the development of innovation processes. His work in the field of innovation and unique approach to urban issues has earned him international acclaim.
A scientific advisor at both national and international level, Carlos Moreno includes amongst those he serves the Mayor of Paris as a Smart City special envoy as well as being appointed to the Academic Board of the Strate Design School in Singapore. The latter occurred in 2018.
His research sees Carlos Moreno addressing the heart of issues faced by cities, metropolises, and territories in the 21st century. In doing so, he has gained a unique perspective on their function and issues faced and solving problems using an innovative approach. As a result, many of his concepts have been used the world over. He features many of his ideas in his various publications.
His work has seen Carlos Moreno receive various awards and accolades. Amongst these, he includes the Foresight Medal from the French Academy Architecture in 2019, and the Obel Award from the Henrik Frode Obel Foundation in 2021. Prior to this, he was named Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur in 2010.
