Dr. Carmen Reinhart has been Harvard Kennedy School’s Minos A. Zombanakis Professor of International Financial System. She is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a Research Associate a the National Bureau of Economic Research. Due to her vast knowledge with regards to economics, Carmen Reinhart has earned a place on numerous editorial board and testified before the American Congress.

Prior to her pursuits in the realm of academia, Carmen Reinhart, throughout the eighties, distinguished herself in the field of economics and finance. She was a chief economist at Bear Sterns, and investment bank, and held various positions at the International Monetary Dunc. From there, she went on to become Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, before first becoming Professor of Economics and later, Director of the Centre for International Economics at the University of Maryland.

An accomplished author of various books and influential academic papers in the field of economics, Carmen Reinhart is the author of the bestseller “This Time is Different”. It has won her two awards, i.e. the TIIA-CREF Paul Samuelson Award as well as the Gold Medal in the Council on Foreign Relations Arthur Ross book award. The book has also been translated into over twenty languages thus far.

Carmen Reinhart, who is equally fluent in both English and Spanish, has been listed among Bloomberg Markets’ Most Influential 50 in Finance, and Foreign Policy’s Top 100 Global Thinkers. She is also listed in Thomas Reuters’ The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds.
