Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter is a German entrepreneur and currently the Chairman of Horasis. Richter is a frequent public speaker on BRICS economy, a scholar and author of 37 books and numerous articles on global strategy and Asian business.
Prior to founding Horasis which promotes global sustainability by encouraging cooperation between emerging and developing markets Richter was a Director of the World Economic Forum. Richter works with top business, political and intellectual leaders around the world. He advises governments and private sector organisations on issues such as globalisation, trade, and sustainable development.
During this time he has developed an extensive experience and knowledge on the world’s economic, business and political scene and of its key players. Under his leadership, the Forum’s Summits in Asia and the Asia part of ‘Davos’ have evolved to facilitate the exchange of expertise between leaders in business, government, and civil society.
His book, The Asian Economic Catharsis highlighted the Asian business environment and how Asian firms bounced back from the 1998 Asian crisis. His writings have appeared in the financial and regional press such as The International Herald Tribune.
Richter holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Stuttgart after studying business administration and mechanical engineering in Germany, France and Japan.
Richter has addressed audiences at the Brookings Institute, Harvard University, Beijing University, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Royal Institute of International Affairs, and many high-level corporate events.
