Henrik von Scheel is best known as the originator of the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ and as the mastermind of the European Digital Revolution.
As part of the advisory of the Federal Minister of Economy and Technology, Henrik von Scheel played a significant role in defining Germany’s future digital strategy as from 2009. The ‘digital agenda’, adopted by the European Commission in 2010 as part of the Europe 2020 strategy, has since then evolved in the European Digital Revolution. As one of Europe’s seven flagship strategies, it makes up for about 5% of the region’s annual GDP.
Similarly, as one of the masterminds and driving forces behind the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Henrik von Scheel, as an advisory group member for the Federal Ministry Education and Research, helped formulate an inter-ministerial innovation policy tasked to define Germany’s high-tech strategy. The final report, termed “Industry 4.9”, was announced in 2013.
His working excellence and innovation strategies saw him awarded the Knowledge Award, the Nobel prize of knowledge sharing, by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. Of Henrik von Scheel the Sheikh is cited as saying that he is “the most influential management thinker of our times.”
