Margarita Mayo is an award-winning researcher, Professor of Leadership at IE Business School in Madrid, and a bestselling author.
Educated in both Europe and the United States of America, Margarita Mayo has a B.A. in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, an M.A. in Psychology from Clark University, and a Ph.D. in Organisational Behaviour from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Margarita Mayo is also a Fulbright Alumni of Harvard University and been a visiting professor at numerous leading business schools, e.g. Lancaster University in the UK, ESMT in Berlin, and the Ivey School of Business in Canada.
Her Ph.D. thesis on leadership and diversity was a finalist in the United States Best Dissertation Award. Margarita Mayo has also seen her research appear in various top academic publications, while her media commentary has appeared in the Harvard Business Review, the Economist, the Economic Times of India, the Guardian, Forbes, and the Financial Times.
Margarita Mayo is also the bestselling of “Yours Truly: Staying Authentic in Leadership and Life.” The book draws on numerous inspirational examples from executives of large corporations, political leaders, and sport leaders.
Besides her academic work, Margarita Mayo was on the 2017 shortlist for the Thinkers 50 Leadership Award and is considered one of the world’s 30 most influential management thinkers to watch.
Margarita Mayo is considered a leading thought leader and management speaker. Since the launch of her book, she has traveled the world, giving keynotes at various global conferences, such as the OECD in Paris, the United Nations in Bonn, and the World Knowledge Forum in Seoul. Amongst the many large companies she has addressed, Margarita Mayo includes the likes of Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Pfizer, and many others.
