With more than 1000 Business workshops and presentations under his belt for over 40 multinational organisations, conference speaker Oscar Van Weerdenburg is considered one of Europe’s leading experts in the field of cultural differences within the business environment.
Oscar Van Weerdenburg is the co-founder and Managing Director of Intercultural Business Improvement and a Strategy Academy associate partner. A visiting professor at INSEAD in the Executive Education Programmes, he has also lectured at the Michigan Business School and the Rotterdam School of Management.
Oscar Van Weerdenburg, after working as a lecturer at the University of Rottderdams’s Studies Department, began collaborating with Fons Trompenaars in 1992. His time with the organisation saw him successfully work with people from a wide range of national and cultural backgrounds.
By creating the Intercultural Readiness Check (IRC), Oscar Van Weerdenburg has given people the ability to measure intercultural competencies. This check has been widely received by both the academic and business community. Amongst the numerous companies he has worked with are included PepsiCo, Qantas, Royal Dutch Shell, DaimlerChrysler, and Goldman Sachs.
With regards to his education, Oscar Van Weerdenburg attended both Amsterdam and Heidelberg Universities. He has published numerous articles on the topics of intercultural management, literature, and philosophy and has also contributed to one of the daily newspapers for many years. Oscar also received the Lecturer of the Year award from Chalmers Professional Education in 2008, and is the author of the well-received ‘Intercultural Readiness: Four competencies for working across cultures’.
