Patrick studied Medical Sciences and Medicine at the Universities of Cambridge and London. His sabbatical in 1979 saw him run Medicom IT, a startup selling computer parts to healthcare services in both the UK and the Middle East. Upon completion of his studies, his first book, “The Truth About AIDS” was published. He also founded ACET, a charity that brought understanding to the spreading of this disease. This agency provides prevention and care programmes in many low-income countries such as Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and DR Congo.
Patrick Dixon can, today, be regarded a serial entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and director of Global Innovators Ltd. He was also the former Chairman of Virttu Biologics Ltd, a company that did clinical trials for cancer using oncolytic viruses (bought by Sorrento Therapeutics Inc).
Patrick’s extensive media profile has seen him on CNN, CNBC, Fox News, Sky News, and ITV, amongst others, commenting on global events, science, and health issues. He has also been featured in the Financial Times, Telegraph, and Time Magazine.
