Business transformation expert who uses his unique ‘Ten Metres of Thinking’ approach
A below-average student, Irish-born Paul Hughes found learning difficult. He failed within the traditional school system and realized that the system did not suit him. His belief in himself, however, saw him take action and develop a system that did work. This system incorporates images, words, and experiences. Paul has since excelled in every undertaking and helps others grow by applying his system to his speaking and consultation.
A master storyteller, the internationally renowned Paul has over twelve years’ experience and has visited over 25 countries during this time. While talking, Paul draws on ten metres of paper, a process for corporate cultural change that he quite accurately calls ‘Ten Metres of Thinking’.
The author of “Branded Growth” has moved from the business of design to the design of business. He believes that the interconnected world we live in needs transformation because of the global challenges currently experienced. Amongst his audiences, he counts Coca-Cola, 3M Innovative Technologies, New York University, Yale University, T-Mobile, Vodafone, University of Amsterdam, Rabo Bank, and many others. He has also appeared at numerous TEDx Events.
Paul helps both individuals and organisations find and understand their growth style and role in an ever-changing world. This he does by making what is considered ‘complex’, simple. Growth, according to Paul, is something that needs to be tailor-made according to the needs of an individual or company.
“Paul’s presentation captivated me: a great blend of oral and visual styles that shed light on a variety of interesting concepts. Paul brought clarity to an elusive topic in a very artistic manner. I would certainly recommend him to any organization.” – Rani Saddi, Head of Marketing & Communication Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre
Paul, while speaking, draws constantly, creating a visual-storytelling experience for audiences that captures the attention. According to Paul, ‘a great speech has the clarity of a picture book’. By drawing live, he creates a unique experience where he reveals his content, keeping his audience wondering ‘what is next’. Line-drawing, according to Paul, enhances his audience’s comprehension while he takes them through different concepts one at a time.
"I had the opportunity to work with Paul on a leadership programme for our top 60 global leaders. What an inspiring and unique experience! The participants were caught by his presentation, which was customised to our leadership strategy. Paul is able to give his audience a complete different view on leadership by storytelling. A great pleasure to listen to and to learn from!”
“Apart from being a gifted speaker, Paul is also a solid organiser. He was very engaged and pro-active on how to get our message across and how his story should tie in."
A master storyteller and impassioned student of life, Paul knows how to capture your attention and take you on a thoughtful journey. Paul helped me deconstruct and rebuild my speaking narrative into something inspiring with mass appeal.
“Paul has the unique ability to capture the soul, the essence of an organization. Then he creates a compelling and inspiring strategy around it, before he then communicates it effectively through key messages. And he can guide even there-branding of your organisation, so that it will capture the passion of all your stakeholders.”
