An international pioneer in innovation, incentive competitions, and entrepreneurship, Dr Plamen Russev is known as a futurist and philanthropist with more than thirty years of experience in technology and investments. Plamen Russev holds a PhD in Healthcare Management. His thesis focused on AI and digital solutions for managing health and social challenges.
He is also the founder and executive board member of the Webit Investment Network. The company turns retail investors into impact investors and invents new tools for creating desirable outcomes and a resilient future. Plamen Russev is also the executive chairman of the Webit Foundation. The foundation is known for its Founders Games’ $6 million award for impact innovation that has its grand final in Davos and the United Nations’ COP. He was also instrumental in developing intelligent specialisation concepts for Central and Eastern European countries.
Plamen Russev has seen his work and accomplishments featured in various media outlets across the globe. These include Bloomberg, CNBC, Forbes, Al Jazeera, The Economist, and CNN. He was also appointed the Goodwill Ambassador for Bulgaria’s Digital Affairs of Bulgaria. The country forms part of the European Union. He was the third such ambassador ever appointed. He also focuses on creating an inclusive society and empowering women.
His work has received numerous awards and accolades from governments, universities, and NGOs, including two honourable doctorates. The Financial Times and Google named Plamen Russev among the top 100 innovators of New Europe.
Plamen Russev, a founding member of the European Commission Blockchain Observatory and Forum, serves on several company, university, and NGO boards. He was also an evaluator and faculty member at Harvard University’s medical school.
