Samir Saran is the President of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), a leading think tank in India. The think tank is located in New Delhi. His research primarily focuses on global governance, climate change and energy policy, technology and media, and India’s foreign policy.
He is also the organiser of Raisina Dialogue. The latter is India’s key platform on geopolitics and geo-economics. Samir Saran is also the founder of CyFy, India’s annual conference on cybersecurity and internet governance. His role sees him actively lead the foundation’s initiatives to build new international partnerships, nurture young leaders’ networks, and promote youth-led conversations worldwide.
Samir Saran is associated with the India-CEO Climate Action Group, the Global Risks Advisory Board, and the Regional Action Group of the World Economic Forum (WEF). He previously served as a Commissioner of The Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace and currently sits on the Board of Directors at ORF America.
As a bestselling author, Samir Saran has written and co-authored numerous books, edited important journals and publications, and penned several academic papers. He is a regular contributor to Indian and international print and broadcast media.
