Stephen Ferris is a strong character and matched by his performance on and off the field, has become a very prominent and highly respected individual.
Stevie’s physical size, power and searing pace made him one of the most destructive ball carriers in the rugby world.
Part of the World Cup Squad in 2007, Stephen’s meteoric rise continued when he played an integral role in Ireland’s grand slam winning side of 2009.
The pinnacle of any Northern Hemisphere Rugby player’s dream ensued with his selection for the British and Irish Lions Tour in 2009. In 2009 Stephen picked up both the coveted Ulster Rugby Personality of the year and the Ulster Rugby Writers Player of the Year Award.
A product of Friends School Lisburn, Stephen came through the rugby ranks the unconventional way having to excel at youth level and fight to be recognized. This rise in addition to all his latest line of achievements he has done with aplomb.
Stephen Ferris had an incredible rugby career, tragically ended by ankle injuries so severe they will never properly heal. He is an inspiration to the population of Ulster, an emblem of the sport that serves as such a positive expression of its culture and identity, and earned the respect and admiration of fans across Ireland for his strength, pace, skill and courage.
Amongst his Irish rugby peers, Stephen Ferris counts the likes of Rory Best, Tommy Bowe, and Andrew Trimble.
Fearless, funny and full of an incredible array of stories from behind the scenes of Ulster, Ireland and the Lions, all of which he has memorialised in his own autobiography Man and Ball, which was shortlisted for the Rugby Book of the year at the British Sports Book Awards.
He is an easy and reliable choice for corporate brands looking for a spokesperson, ambassador or hospitality for promotional events, appearances or public speaking.
