Request Details About This Speaker

Susanne Birgersdotter started her first venture from her kitchen table. All she had was an idea, a lot of online help, and determination. Her mission, at the time, was to create a maths app that would help her daughter with her multiplication tables. From there, she went on to develop seventeen more apps during the course of one year. Seven years later saw the Swedish self-made entrepreneur as the founder of Igotcha, SthlmAppLab, SBDM, and a former partner in the VC company, Milky Way Cap.

Making use of her strong instincts and loads of intuition, Susanne Birgersdotter has managed to grow and expand her companies, never letting setbacks get her down while conquering each challenge as it came along. Her talks lend heavily on her experiences with regards to the tech and start-up world, and how she kept her motivation to succeed as a female entrepreneur in a predominantly male-dominated environment.

Susanne is dedicated in growing her business in a sustainable way and works actively to support other women entrepreneurs, encouraging more women to start companies and helping them get access to funding opportunities. The fact that she is a woman in a male-dominated environment has given her traction. According to her, “the key to success is to have enough self-confidence to dare to ask for help”. She illustrates this point using examples from her own life.

The most important thing for me, as both an entrepreneur and an investor, is to be brave. I think women in tech have a tough time, and it’s hard to be brave in a field that is dominated by men, so one of my big goals is to help female entrepreneurs build their companies and businesses around the world, and I’ll do it as I’ve always done business: with my heart and with my gut feeling.”

Susanne is an active mentor and member of Founders Institute, FemTech, as well as  on several other boards and is editorial advisor for Veckans Affärer Women’s entrepreneurial venture.  As a global speaker,  Susanne gives lectures and workshops on entrepreneurship, women in tech, venture capital and start-ups. Recent highlights include Mobile World Congress Barcelona & Americas, TEDx Wilmington, and European Women in Tech.
