Entrepreneur, innovator, and adventurer running a paperless business via the Cloud
Asia
Although his initial aim was to become a diplomat, Viktor Meier, a former karate champion, realized that neither embassy nor corporate life would suit him. Instead, he wanted one that fulfilled his need for innovation and adventure.
His break came after discovering a Spanish inventor on television who had invented an ecological alternative to conventional ice-skating rinks. After meeting up, the two founded Glice®, a Swiss-based company that builds artificial ice skating rinks.
Although they had a tight start-up budget, Viktor Meier traveled to thirty countries a year, finding new distribution partners and clients. He often stayed in hostels and took only a carry-on bag with him. But his perseverance paid off. It took Viktor Meier and his partner only five years to have Glice® rinks in eighty countries across the globe. These include Canada, the USA, Russia, Sweden Egypt, Singapore, and various others.
Unlike conventional businesses, Glice® does not operate from an office. This paperless company is instead run from the Cloud. It is not unusual to find Viktor Meier conducting business over the internet in an Asian Coffee shop or from a hammock in Mexico.
As a conference speaker, Viktor Meier, with his direct, unconventional methods, is living proof that living your dreams is a possibility, and that one does not have to stay in one place to do so. He currently resides in Bali, Asia, and is a true polyglot that speaks five languages, i.e., German, English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
“Every year at our young Entrepreneurship conference Viktor Meier fascinates again and again the young participants with his entrepreneurial spirit. His Career as well as his open communication has an inspiring effect on the participants, shows them new ways to do things and promotes their out of the box thinking.”
“Viktor Meier delivered a most inspiring speech about entrepreneurship and innovation to a group of 100+ entrepreneurs, company leaders and key opinion leaders at a dinner event in Zurich. We were truly impressed by the interest and active discussion that was triggered within the audience. It would be good for our country to have more such innovative and passionate entrepreneurs.”
“Viktor Meier is down-to-earth, cosmopolitan – a doer. His example shows that it takes a lot of courage and perseverance to bring an innovative idea out into the world and to sell it successfully.”
